Brick & Mortar Stockists:
Events:
Market Harborough Sq.
August 9th 10-4pm
Help us understand why more of our local farmers are changing their practices. This is due to new weather patterns and serious loss of biodiversity. Producing better quality soil and crops, naturally, with healthier animals, means more climate resilience and better-quality food for us. The Waste Initiatives Team from Leicestershire County Council will talk about money saving food waste prevention at home. With an inspirational farm college lecturer from Brooksby College, some people may even consider a new career in farming, whatever their age.
Two calm Highland cows, a sheep and lambs and three small tractors plus five farmers including an agro-ecology professor, will help us. An allotment holder will be explaining no dig gardening and the great benefits of composting for our own gardening practices, to improve soil quality, and help save insects and bees, increasing the number of birds and improving biodiversity. Beekeepers are coming too. Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust will be helping the children with fun activities.
Harborough Woodland will model their vital work helping to reduce flooding on farms.
This exciting event is free. We hope you come and see.
